Veronica Kette founded the African Women Education & Development Partnership Forum in July 2006 as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organisation. Having come from a small village in the Northwest Province of Cameroon, Veronica experienced first hand the challenges that is unfortunately the norm for most girls worldwide. As God would have it, Veronica rose above those challenges. She was the first in her family to attend University. Driven by her passion for human rights, Veronica has worked for groups such as the Human Rights Watch, Soroptimist International, and the Christian Sisters Association.
Her love for education led her to become a teacher trainer early in her career as an educator. That same love led Veronica to become a British and American-trained nurse. It is from these experiences that AWEDP-Forum was born. Like any great mother, Veronica is driven by one simple maxim: girls around the world should not face the same obstacles she did; or at least not without being prepared for them.
